Job Title: Manager, Health and Safety Services
Job Location: Harrisburg, PA
We are seeking a strong Manager to oversee our Central Pennsylvania operation that provides health, safety and environmental risk management services to both private and public sector employers. This is a key position to enhance the growth of our organization and the successful candidate has the opportunity for significant advancement in a 2 year period.
This position is responsible for overseeing a team of safety and health professionals with varying levels of experience including highly experienced project managers. Due to our growth, we are seeking a local manager who can interact with our clients to ensure that our numerous project requests are properly assessed, planned for and completed to our customers’ satisfaction. This group is responsible for conducting health and safety audits, site inspections, and underwriting risk assessments for our insurance programs and for providing industrial hygiene assessments, job safety analysis, ergonomic assessments and training programs for manufacturing and public sector accounts.
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of safety and health management systems, indoor air quality and ergonomic program management. This person should have previous experience managing employees and/or projects in the HS&E consulting industry. Other important requirements include:
• B.S. degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related discipline
• A minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience
• Professional Certification preferred (CSP, CIH, ARM)
• Excellent customer service and follow-up skills and behaviors
• Clear ability to present effective employee, supervisor and manager training programs
• Strong writing skills including the ability to prepare and review technical reports
• Teamwork and collaboration with internal staff members
• Flexibility and comfort working under tight deadlines and changing priorities
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including periodic overnight travel
• Prior experience with insurance risk management and loss control is a significant advantage
